Introductory Excursion (Half Day)

For our ancestors, using snowshoes was a necessary form of transport. Today, however, ‘snowshoeing’ has become an exciting winter sport. A guide will accompany you through the stunning scenery of the Puez Odle National Park, following the tracks of such wild-life as deer, and trying to spot other animals on your journey.
Excursion "La Ferata" - along the old railway line of Val Gardena
Meeting Point: Selva Tourist Office, Departure: 09.30, Duration: 2 hours, Grade of difficulty: Easy
The old steam train which passed through Val Gardena until 1960, is a very important part of the valley’s history. Our guide will take a leisurely walk along part of the old railway track and explain lots of stories about the train as well as point out lots of memorabilia.
Wednesday:
Following the winter wildlife tracks
Meeting Point: Vallunga Car Park, Departure:1.30pm, Duration: 3 hours and 30 minutes, Grade of difficulty: Easy
This is a trip for all the family. Walking through the beautiful winters meadows and forests of the Puez National Park, you can follow the zig zag patterns made by the wildlife in this area and our local expert will be able to show you at first hand the various tracks and give you lots of information about the animals who made them.
Evening snowshoeing and dinner in a mountain refuge
Meeting Point: Selva Tourist Office, Departure: 6.00pm, Duration: 3 hours, Refuge dinner: 20,00 €
Discover just how magical the winter wonderland of the Dolomites is by snowshoeing in the evening under a romantic star fi lled sky – a memorable evening which is very nicely rounded off with dinner at a typical mountain refuge.

Through our local guide with his expert knowledge of the area, you will quickly get to know the Alpe di Cisles or Alpe di Siusi areas. Here you will walk over snow covered fields and forests
and be thoroughly enthralled by the enchanting views.
