Everyone will enjoy biking here, if you choose the ambitious mountain bike tours in the Dolomites or the pleasant and funny bike rides along the valley.
In Selva you will have the best opportunity for living nature very close.
The cycle tracks are located aside the traffic roads, along quiet communal roads going through all the centres of the villages and leading you to very impressive panorama places. Some cycle tracks aren't too difficult and therefore also ideal for not professional bicyclists.
Some mountain bike tracks:
1) Selva - Way of the cross - Daunei - Selva
Take the direction of Plan and after approximately 300 m turn to the left up to the Dantercepies cable railway. It follows a short way down then you will get at a crossing, where you turn to the right to the Vallunga. A little before the Silvester Chapel there is a path going to the left and leading you to the way of the cross. This will take you to the part of the village named Daunei where the road will take you back to Selva. |
2) Selva - La Selva - S. Cristina - Selva
Take the direction down to the valley for approximately 300 m. At the crossing of the Hotel Oswald turn to the left following the asphalt road until the area "La Selva".
a) Turn to the right at the first crossing, in direction Fischburg (Castel) and you will reach the area Ruacia.
Take the way up to the Hotel Maciaconi and follow the main road back to Selva.
b) Follow the asphalt road until its end and take the gravel road to Monte Pana and then the way down to
S. Cristina. Here the way goes along the main road back to Selva. |
3) Selva - S. Cristina - S. Giacomo - Ortisei - Selva
Ride your bike down the valley for approximately 1 km with the direction Hotel Alpenroyal and turn to the right at the crossing. Go right through the La Poza Street to S. Cristina. Turn to the right at the first crossing (Residence Anri) and after 100 m to the left. After passing the bridge there is a steep way up waiting for you! After having reached the top (House Uleta) you will have to continue until the Church of S. Giacomo located above Ortisei.
a) Take the left way down to Soplases and then follow the main road in direction Selva. |
4) Selva - Monte Pana - Alpe di Siusi - Selva
Follow the route n. 2 until Monte Pana and take the forest road bringing you to the foot of the Sassolungo until Saltria on the Alpe di Siusi.
a) Follow the steep way down passing by the Jender Valley and reaching Soplases.
Along the main road you can take the way back to Selva.
b) Take the short easy way up to the Tirler Hut and go on to the Zallinger Hut and take the way back to
